5mm Thick - XPS Underlay is a Classic Underlay for Laminate & Wood Flooring

These unique extruded polystyrene boards absorb bumps and unevenness, cover over floorboard cracks, dampen impact sound, and resist moisture incursion.

XPS underlay works with your floor to compress on foot contact, accentuating walking comfort and reducing the impact of a fall. Sold in packs which are a light weight to avoid the difficulties of fitting and handling and cutting. It is super quick to fit and significantly saves on waste.

Similar to Fibreboard, XPS offers sound proofing and insulation.

How do I calculate how much flooring I need?

Our carpet measurement calculator is really easy to use. You just need to know the length and width of the room, in either feet or meters. Type these numbers into the relevant boxes above and click ‘calculate’. The carpet calculator will then generate a number of measurements, including:

  • the area of the space in square feet (ft2) and square metres (m2)
  • the amount of gripper you will need in feet and metres

All of our underlay products are measured and priced per m2 and, using these measurements, it’s easy to work out how much carpet underlay you will need – and approximately how much it costs.

How do you work out m2?

In order to calculate the size of a room or space in m2, you simply multiply the length of the space (in metres) by the width of the space (in metres).
