Update your home with luxury vinyl tiles

Want to give your home a fresh, modern look? Set to be one of the most popular types of flooring for 2020, trust us, luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) are the way to go. Suitable for all rooms throughout the house, it will add an instant touch of style and sophistication – without breaking the bank!

What is luxury vinyl tile flooring?

LVT is a type of multi-layered flooring – which mimics the look and texture of wood, but is actually made from vinyl. Thanks to advancements in printing technology, a high-resolution image of hardwood can be sealed between the top and bottom layer of the tile. This creates an incredibly impressive finish. In fact, in most cases, it’s difficult to discern vinyl tiles from the real thing.

Aside from its attractive appearance, luxury vinyl flooring has many other benefits. For example, it:

  • is tough, durable and long-lasting
  • offers resistance to staining, scratching and furniture dents
  • is fully-waterproof
  • significantly reduces airborne and impact noise
  • is easy to install and maintain
  • can be installed with both underlay and underfloor heating

Here at Carpet Underlay Shop, we’re a massive fan of vinyl floor tiles. They’re an easy and affordable way to completely transform your home and, as a leading UK stockist, we have everything you need to whip out your old carpets and laminate and replace it with this fashionable alternative.

Choose the perfect LVT for your home

As part of our flooring range, we currently stock LVT vinyl click flooring by Royale®. This is a brand renowned for its exquisite quality and high-end designs. Starting from just £18.99 per m2, it’s an ideal price for general domestic use and provides all of the benefits outlined above.

Three colours are available:

Rhino grey

However, grey is by far the most popular. As one of the biggest emerging flooring trends of 2020, it gives the room a trendy and contemporary feel and will complement pretty much any furniture style or décor.

Invest in a suitable underlay

To get the best results, it’s a good idea to lay your new vinyl click flooring with a suitable underlay. Our recommendation is the Royale® LVT Acoustic. This is one of the very best products on the market. Made from a combination of toughened foam and silver foil, it boasts a range of useful features and will significantly enhance the final look and feel of your luxury vinyl tiles.

If you plan to install LVT with underfloor heating, it’s important to invest in an underlay specifically designed for this purpose – such as the Royale® Thermo Pro X. This does exactly the same job as that above. However, thanks to its unique ‘punched hole’ design and low TOG rating (i.e. 0.3 TOG), it encourages heat transfer and will ensure your heating system works to its full potential.

Add the final touches

Once the new LVT flooring has been laid, be sure to add matching threshold strips. This is something that a lot of people forget – but it helps to secure the tiles in place and creates a seamless finish. Whilst single-edged strips are typically used to join LVT to carpet, stick down cover strips are a great way to hide gaps between the tiles in one room and those in another. Available from just £2.99 per strip, they come in a range of popular colours and are a worthwhile investment for most projects.
