Plushwalk 12 vs Cloud 9: Carpet Underlay Review

So, you’re about to update your home with some cosy new carpets, and now all that’s left to do is decide which carpet underlay you’re going to go for. What could be so hard right? Well, choosing carpet underlay can actually prove more difficult than some might think, with so many different options to choose from, and such an important choice too. Underlay is crucial in determining how well your new carpets are going to perform, so it’s important you pick wisely.

But right now, we’re going to make it that little bit easier for you and narrow it down to two! Cloud 9 Cumulus and Plushwalk 12. Two excellent underlays, with separate pros and cons.

Cloud 9 is a well-known underlay on the market for years, being the only option most people knew to turn to when it came to buying underlay for their carpets. Fast forward to 2021, and there is so many other options out there, with the Wilsons Plushwalk range being an industry favourite for its unbelievable levels of softness underfoot thanks to its memory foam construction, now being considered the market-leader of underlays.

It also boasts 5-star durability, hard-wearing protection, and a damp-proof membrane (DPM), and there aren’t many carpet underlays on the market that offer that, which is another excellent and unique feature about Plushwalk. Whereas on the other hand, Cloud 9 is renowned for its excellent sound and thermal properties, as well as being known for their eco-friendly construction, which is extremely appealing for those wishing to reduce their carbon footprint while updating their home.

So, which one is the best? Well, we’ll leave that for you to decide, but we’re here to offer you a helping hand – below we compare the two in more detail, giving you the perfect basis to make your decision!
